Hair Loss in Men

Most men are surprised to learn that you can expect to lose somewhere between 75 and100 strands of hair every day. While this is a normal rate of hair loss, a problem occurs when new growth does not keep up with the amount of hair lost.

There are various forms of hair loss in men, some of which are more common than others. The severity of hair loss in men may differ from person to person depending on the genetic makeup of the individual.  Regardless of the type, hair loss can affect confidence and the self-image.

Fortunately, shaved heads have become quite popular. Balding men now find themselves in good company with others who boldly wear their lack of hair. For those who do not wish to sport the shaved/bald look, there are options. In fact, the market is flooded with products aimed at hair loss treatment for men.

There are plenty of supplements, shampoos and creams; though no concrete proof supports the effectiveness of these over-the-counter products. Despite that, they are continually used by most men to lessen hair loss problems.  Most supplements and other topical treatments work by decreasing the rate in which hair falls but not really as a massive hair grower.

Hair transplant surgery is a highly effective hair loss treatment. Still many men are more in favor of alternative, practical and less painful way to treat their hair loss problems. Wigs are one non-surgical alternative. Although a quick way to covers hair loss, wigs require a lot of work to get used to, not to mention the high costs and frequent maintenance.

Which treatment you select will depend on many factors. One major factor in the more expensive treatments is whether your individual health plans cover the treatment. Each person has their own preferences. No matter which route you decide to take, it is most important to be carefully review the benefits and downside to all options.
