Look for These Signs When It’s Time to Replace Your Rain Boots
Rain boots need to be replaced on occasion. There are several things that I look for to determine if my rain boots need to be replaced. I look for things like water getting in where it shouldn't, hardware and buckles giving out and determining that rain boots are no longer fashionable.
The least important but sometimes easiest to spot reason to replace rain boots is that they are no longer fashionable. Like other trends in fashion rain boots can go in and out of style. While their primary concern is function some folks care about the latest fashions and if your current style of rain boot does not match your current fashion style they need to be replaced.
Next, I would take a look at all hardware, clasps and buckles on my rain boots to make sure that everything is in good working order. As soon as hardware begins to go out I start looking for rain boot replacements. I have a daily commute to work that largely happens in the rain in the winter. I do not want to be stuck halfway between home and the office with wet feet and no rain boots.
Finally, I always know very quickly if I rain boots begin to let in water. I have only had this happen on a couple of occasions but sometimes the soul of the rain boot will wear out and water will start to get it. At that point it is time to immediately replace arrangements. This may seem obvious but it is just a reminder to take a look at your rain boots as you're putting them on your daily commute to make sure that no water will get in and make your feet wet.
