One machine that you cannot miss out on is the squat rack or the power rack.  A squat rack is a piece of weight training equipment that is meant to help you with barbells.  Power racks are great from home gyms because when you do not have anyone to spot you, you could easily hurt yourself on a regular bench.  With a squat rack, safety comes first.  Notches in the rack allow you to bench press normally and when the weight is too heavy for your last rep you can lay it down on any of the many notches on the way.  If your muscles ever spasm, safety notches will prevent the bar from crushing your chest.
