Insanity vs p90x? Which is better?

If you have long been an exercise fanatic, then you must have heard all about the insanity vs p90x. These two exercises have become famous for their intense work out routines that has made people lose pounds in such a short time. One would be curious to find out more about these two routines, and see which one is better. Read on below, and find out more about these work outs; one or the other might be appropriate for your fitness needs.

Insanity is a work-out routine designed to be accomplished within 60 days. It is broken into two levels, called phases, with the initial as the lesser intense and the next is called the “max” phase. During the lighter level, one can perform simpler work outs which will require some cardio and muscle boost. However, upon reaching the max phase, workouts will become even more powerful. One will concentrate on his core cardio and balance for about 6 days, which is called the Recovery Week. The routines included cardio, calisthenics, plyometrics and other sports drills. The whole Insanity routine includes 10 workouts and ranges from 45 minutes to an hour and fifteen minutes. One good thing about this is that no equipment is needed as one will be using their own body with throughout the whole routine.

Insanity however, requires greater physical preparation. This starts in a great intense pace, and even warm ups are very strict; hence its name insanity. Be careful, for you have to keep up throughout the whole exercise to have better results. Ensure that your muscles and joints are already flexible, for you will experience constant pounding within the whole process.

The p90x on the other hand, is a three month program. It is longer than the insanity work out, and is divided into three phases. At every phase, one can experience ea cool down period where one’s body can recuperate from the intense exercises experienced from the phase. This is to prevent the muscle confusion so that one can feel after each change of phase. Then p90x work out has many routines included, from resistance exercises to cardio as well as yoga. It is a complete set of routine that can be acquired for a longer time; a total body workout which will greatly benefit for those who are patient enough to lose weight at a gradual time.

Which is better between the two routines? Only one can decide—you. If you are in need of a faster, powerful workout that will help you to lose pounds in a little time, go for the intense workout. If you want to have a more dynamic, complete set of exercises for a longer time without the intensive strain, then choose p90x. Both workouts are effective to those who follow its whole routine obediently. Just make sure that your body is ready to undergo either of these routines.

Finding Your Hidden 6 Pack Abs

A great abdominal section or "abs" is something everybody wants to have but few are willing to really work for.  The reason they're so highly coveted is because they're so hard to get.  If you could just spray on 6 pack abs, nobody would be impressed with them.  To really get the dream abs most want, it takes sticking to some very strict weight loss tips and making sure you're reaching all of your fitness goals.

Here's what happens to most people who want those amazing abs.  They see some machine on late night TV promising 6 pack abs with just 5 minutes of workout each day.  That sounds like a good deal and who can't fit 5 minutes a day into their schedule.  The people using these machines look great and it seems like they're all having fun with not much effort.  When the contraption comes in the mail, you pull it out, put it together and do even more than 5 minutes on it, pat yourself on your back and head back to the couch to catch the second half of the game.  The next day you do your 5 minutes and you're convinced those abs are going to be bulging out in no time at all.

I think you know the rest of this story.  Within a couple of weeks, no 6 pack abs and the amazing miracle machine goes back into the closet to die a slow and boring death.  What you don't see on these commercials is the fine print that says "along with a sensible nutritional program."  You could get the worlds strongest abdominal muscles but never see them because they're covered in a layer of fat and you're not going to burn that fat away with 5 minutes of crunches each morning.

If you really want abs you can be proud of, you need to put yourself on a strict program that includes all the crunches, leg raises and obliques you do, but also a good amount of cardiovascular exercise to boost your caloric burn each day.  In addition to this, you need to reduce the amount of food you're eating.  When you've done all this and mixed in a fair amount of time, you'll finally start to see those abs poking through.  It's not a quick process and it's not as easy as the models on TV make it look.

The good news is, that cool contraption you bought off of the TV can still be used.  Most of them are not bad, but they have to be used right and in conjunction with the rest of your fitness plan.

Who Would Want To Buy An Inversion Chair?

There are many advantages of inversion chairs.  That's why they have become more popular the last few years.  In this post, we will discuss some of these advantages, helping you to decide if an inversion chair is best for you - or if you would be better off going with a traditional inversion table.  In addition, we will points out a few disadvantages that you should also consider.

Advantages of Inversion Chairs

Along with all the other traditional advantages that come along with inversion therapy, there are a few specific advantages that you have if you decide to purchase an inversion chair vs table.  First of all, you have added stability - and this is the main reason why people purchase chairs instead of tables or gravity boots.  This stability allows people with some injuries that would normally prevent them from enjoying inversion therapy to enjoy it (obviously, please speak with your doctor before starting any such training regime).

In addition, By safely and securely strapping yourself into the chair you don't have to worry about any stress on your ankles or ligaments - stress that can make it very uncomfortable for some people when they start inverting.  Some people never get used to this stress, and for these people an inversion chair can be very effective.

Disadvantages of Inversion Chairs

While you do gain advantages in terms of stability with inversion chairs, you do lose some in terms of mobility.   Because you are in the chair you are not able to fully stretch your ligaments and joints like you can on an inversion table.  In fact, many people find gently swinging back and forth to be a very effective way to stretch their back, legs, and ligaments.

Summary

The bottom line is that if you are a healthy person, with the ability to support yourself from your ankles, then an inversion table is probably the better way to go.  However, for all those people who have specific back problems that would prevent them from doing so, then an inversion chair can still give them many of the advantages of inversion therapy.

High Protein Low Carb Diet Plans

If you are considering starting a high protein low carb diet plan then there are a few things you will want to be aware of before you do so. First of all, it's important to remember that if you want to lose weight there is not magical 'get if off' extremely fast solution - losing weight is a hard thing to do, but don't give up. Just go into the diet/workout plan with realistic goals so you don't get frustrated one or two months into it.

In addition, when deciding if you want to start on a low carb high protein diet plan then you need to know a few things. First, many times this type of diet is not the best way to go, especially if you are cutting out the carbs entirely. Simply stated, your body needs carbohydrates, and if you don't give your body the carbs then it will start breaking down tissue in order to fuel itself. Of course, this is one of the basis behind zero carb diets in the hope that the tissue that will be broken down will be fatty tissue. While fatty tissues will be broken down, they are not the only tissues broken down - lean tissue is also targeted, which is not what you want.

Instead, it's a better idea to start a more complete diet plan. There is nothing wrong with cutting back on the carbohydrates, and frankly most people probably need to do so. However, don't cut them back to something crazy like 1 gram of bread or to nothing - you won't be doing yourself any long-term favors, and long-term results are what you should be going for in this situation. A more complete diet plan will include a good eating regime, along with healthy exercise and a good stretching routine. It may not be easy, and it may not promise 'fast weight loss', but at least it will be real, healthy weight loss.

Why You Would Choose a Recumbent Stationary Bike

With so many different types of exercise bikes available, how are you to choose the best one for you? This is a very common question that is asked before anyone makes this significant purchase. Because there are so many available options you need to do as much research as possible before you make your purchase.

One such option is a recumbent stationary exercise bike. A recumbent bike has many advantages that you should consider, including the following:

1. A recumbent stationary bike allows you to get a bike workout in while sitting down.

2. This type of exercise bike lets you to relax your arms and hands while working out.

Of course, depending on what you want from an exercise bike may make these advantages turn into disadvantages, but for some people being able to both sit down and relax their arms and hands is an absolute must when it comes to getting into shape by riding a bike.

The first reason this would be true is if you have some sort of physical ailment that would prevent you from from standing for prolonged periods of time. Certain back and leg injuries may prevent this, but would still possibly allow for your to exercise while sitting down, allowing you to still get in a great cardio workout but not putting that extra pressure on your back from standing, as you would with a more traditional bike.

The second reason is more applicable to everyone. One of the biggest advantages of recumbent exercise is that you don't have to hunch over and reach for handle bars, as you would with an up-right exercise bike or even elliptical machine. Keeping your back in a straight, stable position can help dramatically to reduce the possibility of back and neck injuries or pain.

As you can see there are specific circumstances in which you would want to purchase a recumbent exercise machine instead of an up-right or elliptical. However, before you do so I would strongly recommend reading as many recumbent stationary bike reviews before you do so.

3 Tips to Effectively Lose Weight

There are a lot of things that are important when trying to lose weight. I think that the most important thing is to keep it simple. That's why I think keeping a few simple tips is important.

Tip #1: Exercise

No amount of eating right is rewarded with weight loss without all the huffing and puffing. A 30 minute cardio exercise for about four times a week would do you good. You have to incorporate a resistance exercise program for 20 minutes for you to combat the pain you will feel. Strengthening your muscles for the first few weeks is very important.

Tip #2: Awareness

Eating anything in sight is not the way to go but being able to distinguish the good and healthy food from the empty calories is essential in weight loss like selecting a good weight loss program. Aside from this, knowing the proper repetitions for your exercise is also important since if you exercise too much, you will easily get hungrier than you thought and end up binging on the wrong food since you are so hungry that you could eat a horse.

Tip #3: Diet

Knowing what food groups to focus on is advisable if you want to keep on burning calories even while you eat. I like diet programs including the intuitive weight loss system. Skipping meals to compensate for the calories is not a way to go since you will not burn anything when you do that. Your body will all the more store the fat for you to conserve heat and not pass out due to starvation. A weight loss supplement could help you gradually lose weight since it allows you to not grow hungry in between meals as well as aid in strengthening your muscles but keep in mind that you are to solely dependent on this.

If you can do these three things then you are 90% on your way to losing weight.
