What is a Pantry Cabinet?

Most people categorized a pantry cabinet together with a kitchen cabinet. They are right to some extent as both these cabinets have the same storage functions, and they are both placed inside the kitchen. However, if you look closely, they are actually different. Pantry cabinets are large standing cabinets with the height of about two meters. If you compare a pantry cabinet to a kitchen cabinet, the major difference lies in their size and their storage area. The pantry cabinet wins hands down when it comes to storage compatibility as it has a much deeper and bigger storage area.

A pantry cabinet is a tall standing cabinet with two doors. They are mostly made from wood, but we have recently seen many pantry cabinets using metal as their main material. Once you open the pantry cabinet, you will see a big and deep storage that can be used to store many food items and kitchen appliances. Some of the pantry cabinets have adjustable shelves to adjust the height of each shelf to fit various food items or kitchen appliances.

Apart from the traditional interior storage, some of the newer pantry cabinet has extra storage on the back of the doors. Many people have debated that this does not increase the amount of storage space as the original shelf space are now transferred to the back of the doors. However, as the original shelf space are very deep, stretching all the way to the back of the cabinets, it is often difficult to utilize the storage areas located deep inside the shelves.

Now, with extra storage pockets on the back of the door, the depth of these storage space are reduce by one third, which makes it relatively easy to make use of the back of the shelf space. It is also more possible to reach the items at the back of the shelves.
