What is RSD Disease

Many people are asking the question, what is RSD Disease?  This is known as reflex sympathetic dystrophy, which causes tremendous burning pain in the bones and skin.  It can cause a person that is suffering from this nervous system disorder to experience the chronic and debilitating symptoms for their entire life.

Many people that suffer from this condition known as RSD disease, may find that they have decreased motor skills as well as being very sensitive to touch.  It is normally found in people’s arms and legs.  It can also occur in the face, a persons back as well as other areas of the body.  It can involve the skin as well as muscles.  Normally the disease will show up after some kind of accident or injury.  Some people that have been in different kinds of accidents or have experienced certain infections may see this disease occur.

If the condition is diagnosed right away, the person can receive some treatment to prevent the symptoms and enable the disease to go into a remission.  The remission can be cut short if the person experiences another type of injury or infection.  If left untreated, there can be some serious consequences such as the inability for the body to reverse some of the damages that have occurred.

Some of the symptoms of RSD disease are the feeling of constant burning.  There may be swelling in a particular area, as well as some form of muscle spasms.  A person with this disease may also experience some emotional difficulties as well.  There may even be certain changes to the skin such as not being able to be touched without pain or a person could experience a rash.  Because these symptoms closely resemble other disorders, it is often difficult to diagnose this disease accurately.

The treatment for this disease can combine using a variety of prescription medications as well as massage therapy and other forms of muscle relaxation techniques.  Anyone that is suffering from this disorder can use a combination of treatments that will work best for them.  There are several websites that you can take a look at to find support and treatment options.
